Our Beloved Pup

Divina is the gorgeous dog that Channing and Meredith (Channing's sister) adopted from the Nashville Humane Association in June 2002. Their parents had never allowed them to have any large pets, so when Meredith came to stay with Channing for the summer, they seized the moment.

Divina was a dirty, malnourished stray when we brought her home. She bore physical scars of abuse by her previous owner, and as a result, was extremely shy and fearful.

Channing, Chip and Meredith promptly began showering her with affection and attention. Over the next several months, Divina flourished, put on healthy weight and became much more social and trusting. She has learned to play and is a very happy pup. By nature, Divina is more like a cat than a dog -- she's independent, quiet, polite, and cautious. Divina makes a great running companion and she's a keen hunter.
